There's always lots to do at the junior section, games, crafts, figure marching and badge work are just some of the things we get up to on a Tuesday evening. We meet in Bathgate High Church Hall on Tuesday nights and some of the boys have been attending BB's since anchor boys while others just came along and started at junior section level. It really doesn't matter when you start, it would just be good to get some new boys coming along.
So why join the Boys' Brigade?
Bruce explains that he always wanted to join the BB because his cousin had been a member and had all his badges. Bruce started as an anchor boy before moving up to the junior section and has been collecting badges since then. He really enjoys coming along and hopes to join the company section when he is old enough and add even more badges to his collection!
Miller moved house to Bathgate and everything was new, he joined the junior section and in his own words has had "lots of fun and made new friends".
Nicky is another of the boys who has been going along to BB's since he was an anchor boy and like Bruce, he enjoys his badge work and doing things like raising money for Children in Need which they do every year. This year the boys tried to guess where Pudsey was to raise some money.
As well as all the weekly activities, there are Battalion competions, quizzes and sports events which bring together boys from the whole of West Lothian area.
If you are free on a Tuesday evening, why not come along and give it a try!
